Gods, Chances, and Helping Hands

I am amused.  Yesterday, this here blog site got it's very first independent keyword search hit.  The search phrase?

"the gods will offer you chances"

I can't help but feel there's some sort of significance to this, and I like where it's going.  See, I believe that if we want something, the first thing we need to do is put it out into the Universe that we want it.  Synchronicity has shown time and time again that more often than not, when we do this, we suddenly start finding all manner of opportunities cropping up to lead us toward it.

Of course, the second important thing we need to do is grab those opportunities when they appear, and not allow some little fear-based "Oh, it's just coincidence.  It doesn't mean anything" mentality keep us from jumping on that.  I firmly believe that, contrary to popular opinion, the Universe (or whatever deity, supreme being, FSM one wants to call it) wants us to succeed, and to live well, and happily.  Therefore, when we ask for something, it will do what it can to give us a hand.  The problem, too often, is that we don't uphold our end of the deal, and take the offered hand.  We ignore it, we rationalize it to be something else, we run screaming from it.  We tell ourselves (or let others tell us) that it doesn't mean anything, and so we let the opportunity pass us by.

However, I don't believe in the saying "Opportunity only knocks once".  I believe that it will keep coming back, even if it's changed it's clothes and looks a little different each time.  We always get another chance to try for what we want, it's just a matter of how difficult are we going to make it for ourselves.

So I say dream big, tell the Universe what you want, and when the gods hold out their hands with the chances and opportunities to pursue them, FOR THE LOVE OF TOAST, TAKE THEM!  It could mean the difference between a joyful life and a miserable one.
